Above the fairy chimneys: a Cappadocia dawn
What it's actually like to fly at sunrise — and why the second morning is the one to plan for.

The alarm goes at 4:30. There is tea in the lobby and a van outside, headlights catching the frost. Twenty minutes later you are standing in a field watching a hundred balloons inflate at once, the burners lighting them from inside like lanterns.
Then, without ceremony, the ground lets go.
